Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

So I've started school, and lucky me my college has the second highest homework amount in the country! Yay for me. But it's ok. I usually do assignments as soon as I get them, further my teachers are all nice and linent to a degree. So I'm not swamped I just have two assignments left to do. The paper which I'll write tommorrow, when I finish the book. (no I'm not putting it off, I have a planner that I'm following.) And my Digital Design and type homework, which I e-mailed the teacher about cause I wasn't sure about some stuff. If she doesn't get back to me today I'm calling her on sunday. I have time it's not due until Thrusday and the paper isn't due till the 19th. I still won't be uploading anything for a while, until I get accustomed to the campus. So don't expect to see much, unless I already have it on a flash drive.

So other than homework I've gotten really good games too. I'm playing this killer rpg: Odin Sphere. IT IS AMAZING! And it's replay value is through the roof. Atlus made the game in a 2D style and the graphics are just spectacular. I highly suggest you rent it if you don't wanna pay the $40 for it. (I got mine used for $30) I also got Arcana Hearts, it's an all-girl fighter and is hard as hell. I have trouble with it on easy mode, the combos are quite difficult. It's a bit fanserviced but good to play if you have nothing to do. Or if you feel like trying something a little different. It's also by Atlus and is a 2D fighter. Both games are for the PS2.
